Born on the Azim Steppe, Vayanin has left behind the blooded grass and wild wind in favor of a seemingly tamer life in Eorzea. Guarded and seemingly cold, she puts on a false smile for the sake of customers, but is rather hesitant to create connections, and it shows in every way.A skilled botanist and renowned for her ability to track down rare and seemingly unknown or unfindable ingredients and reagents, Vayanin has built a name for herself. From the salty breeze of the Limsa markets, to the deep underground of the Ul'Dah black markets, she walks both paths, known by two separate names. Vayanin to the sailors, Scales to the seedy underground.More recently, though, she has been seen haunting the icy cobbles of Foundation, training under the knowledgeable tutelage of the Chirurgeons, and expanding upon budding white mage abilities.But her past is catching up to her, and Eorzea is becoming far too small.. will she retreat further afield to the New World, or finally seek allies and face her past head on?
She walks alone, always casting her gaze over her shoulder, tucking from shadow to shadow as though haunted by her past, as though hunted in her present. The scars that litter her body tell a thousand and one stories. The smattering of blue freckles across her cheeks, meticulously painted, speak of a hundred and one lives.In moments of high emotion, a hint of a past long gone will tinge her accent; a history of rippling grass and fluttering banners, of blistering sunlight and whooping war cries. A lost home of silvery nights and dancing bodies and tradition that runs blood and soil deep.And yet her eyes stray forward too, seeking out a secure future, one of security, warmth, connection and happiness. Hope hides behind the distrust in those mismatched, tired eyes, should one only be patient enough to discover it.She wanders Erozea as a ghost of the woman she once was, and yet also a seed of what she could grow into should she nurture it. Wary and hyperaware of any change to the areas she wanders most, she has learned to move effortlessly in the black markets of Ul’Dah. A skilled botanist, she has built a name for herself providing services to the various Guilds and merchants across the ports and docks across Limsa Lominsa.Where the wind howls cutting and brutal, and the snow falls unrelenting, she has begun to carve out a home in cold stone and dancing auroras. She will never forget the first icy lungful of Coerthas air, nor the sharp, biting scent of pine and mountain snow. The burn of a fire on frost-nipped cheeks and fingers, the cool stares of a people as wary of strangers as she is… Ishgard captured her heart from the first, and despite a cool reception from the people that call these cold mountains home, she has begun to dig her roots deep into the permafrost of those cold lands. Working shoulder to shoulder with the skilled Chirurgeons of Ishgard, she is being taught the workings of the body, and how her aether as a White Mage will affect it.

| Defining Features: | Her right eye is crimson red with a bright cherry limbal, and her left eye is a deep purple. Her hair is midnight black with lavendar highlights throughout, and she often hides her red eye behind her bangs. Occasionally, a glimpse of a jagged scar and poorly healed skin can be seen on her right upper arm. She has a multitude of scars across the entirety of her body, but the most distinctive are on her left waistline and right thigh. When she smiles, she has sharp canines, and her scales have a distinctive lavender sheen to them. |

This character is trying to find herself in Erozea and is open to building relationships, but is cautious around new or unknown individuals.Dark RP themes welcomeVayanin does not actively seek out ERP, and it will not happen quickly if it happens at all. All parties must consent to ERP. Any hard-stops, hard limits, or potential triggers that may come up must be discussed beforehand. I do not participate in ANY Lalafell ERP, and if it is instigated the individual will be immediately blacklisted.One shots/ one-offs are fine, but I do prefer and enjoy long running RPs, as I like to world-build and allow my character to grow in the world around her.Here are some possible hooks
In the wild: Vayanin can often be found out gathering throughout Eorzea. She is always looking for something new to gather or mine, and often gets into weird and worrying situations while doing so. She will scarce be found without her beloved and trusty Chocobo Pumpkaboo. The bird is protective, mean and will often kick or bite at anyone who ventures too close to the small auri woman.
In Limsa Lominsa: She works side by side with the various guilds to keep the markets stocked and running. She occasionally does supply runs for Maelstrom, and is always willing to take jobs for those who need supplies.
In Ul' Dah: Vayanin is incredibly familiar with both the legal and illegal markets of Ul' Dah. If she needs something specific or rare, she can be found in Ul' Dah. Do you need a reagent or ingredient that is rare or illegal? You might address her as Scales and see if you have found the quietly rumored botanist.
In Gridania: In-character, Vayanin will only be found in Gridania under the most pressing circumstances, and she will be hiding her identity while there.
Bounty Hunters Beware: A woman of similar description is being searched for by the Wood Wailers of Gridania.
In Ishgard: Vayanin has begun working with the Chirurgeons of Ishgard, both as an apprentice and as a supplier of needed ingredients and reagents. With a blessing from E-Sumi-Yan, she will split her white mage training between the Ishgardian Chirurgeons and Raya-O-Senna.
BOUNTY HUNTERS: Three xaelan Dotharl warriors are looking for a woman with a similar description as her, an atypical looking Hotgo woman with red skin and a red eye. Is this the target they seek? They are offering a hefty payout of 1million gil for the live capture of their target.
Vayanin has a prominant limp in her right leg that only becomes apparent after vigorous work, running, climbing, or other exhaustive activities. She does her best to hide it, especially in public. (If she is limping, it will be mentioned in the RP.)
Vayanin is overall coolly polite when first approached, but once she gauges someone, her true personality will begin to peek out.
NOTE:
"Vayanin" is an adopted name.
"Velaris" is an adopted name, not an Azim Steppe tribe name.
If you are curious about her tribe, there are several mannerisms and hints as to what tribe she was born to. You can ask, but I tend not to tell as it would spoil the fun of learning through RP!
